Let’s say you’re on a highway, driving at 100 kmph.
There’s minimal traffic.
You’re not switching lanes.
You’re cruising steady on the slow lane.
But for whatever reason…
Instead of looking ahead, you keep looking in the rear view mirror.
You’re not looking ahead.
You look straight in the rear view mirror.
And you keep looking.
Not a blink.
You have no idea what vehicles are ahead of you, because that’s not where your focus is.
You’re busy looking at the vehicles behind you.
That’s where all your attention is.
Do you think that’s a good idea?
How do you think it’ll impact your driving if you keep looking in the rear view mirror all the time?
Think about it.
How far do you think you’re away from a crash?
You don’t need to know driving to predict the outcome.
That’s a sure-fire way to meet with an accident.
Now, let’s switch gears for a second…
In our work and personal lives, we’re so caught up in the web of our past that we lose focus on what’s ahead of us.
We’re not ready to take our minds off of what’s behind us.
Physically, we’ve moved on from our past. We don’t exist there anymore.
But mentally, we’re not ready to move on.
Our thoughts are still fixated on the incidents when someone insulted us, humiliated us, and made us feel pathetic and terrible.
If we don’t CONSCIOUSLY take our minds off our past, we won’t be able to effortlessly move forward in life.
We build our stress levels up by recreating our past in our minds.
It’s a sure-fire way to have our mental and physical health CRASH and CRUMBLE.

Look ahead.
